The season at Mt. Massive runs from May 15 to October 15.

Summertime temperatures are typically in the mid-70's and the air is almost always pleasantly humidity-free. Remember to pack plenty of good sunscreen, as the UV rays are stronger at the high elevation.

In the months of September and October, the frost needs to melt before players are allowed on the course, so starting tee times vary between 7 AM and 10 AM.

The natural rough, a combination of sagebrush and wildflowers, is very fragile at this altitude, so carts are never permitted in the rough, regardless of the weather.

Leadville and Mt. Massive Golf Course are uniquely situated such that the area sometimes experiences dramatically different weather than is simultaneously seen in the surrounding counties, such as Park and Summit.
